Help keep the next step within reach.
Jessica is a Youth and Job ChalleNGe alumna, plumbing apprentice, and active volunteer who is helping build Cornerstone’s next chapter.
Originally from Farmington, Jessica found renewed direction at New Mexico Youth ChalleNGe and continued to Job ChalleNGe. Its 10-week Apprenticeship Readiness Program through UA Local 412 introduced her to the trades and connected her with JB Henderson. She now works in plumbing, continues her apprenticeship and education, and lives independently in Albuquerque.
In a traditionally male-dominated trade, Jessica is developing the experience to pursue her ambition of owning a company. As Cornerstone’s Director and Secretary, she is also learning board records, communication, and governance through hands-on mentoring. She is working toward service in the New Mexico Air National Guard.
Jessica has presented Cornerstone scholarships and spoken at Youth and Job ChalleNGe graduations. She returns to Job ChalleNGe to volunteer, speak with associates, and mentor others. Her willingness to show up embodies the foundation’s alumni-led approach: keep growing, then help someone else see what is possible.
“Youth Challenge gave me structure, discipline, and a chance to get myself back on track.”
